"One of the best voices in the business." - Rolling Stone
When Terry Evans sings, people listen...and believe. For years, Evans' voice has fueled albums by the likes of John Fogerty, John Lee hooker and Ry Cooder. Terry's fist album for AudioQuest Music, Puttin' It Down, was called "one for the ages" by Stereophile magazine. Come To The River, featuring some very special guests, is quite simply, one of Terry's best albums to date. The sessions (with help from Cooder) were joyous. The music...pure magic!

Terry Evans has one of the most identifiable voices in blues and roots music, providing vocal support for the likes of John Lee Hooker, Ry Cooder and John Fogerty. In recent years, Evans has come to the forefront as a concert headliner with a stunning series of well-received recordings. Evans returns in 2005 with his first studio recording since 2001's Mississippi Magic. His voice is as rich as ever. On the Ry Cooder-penned "My Baby Joined the Army", Evans emotes the pain of loss through his voice and guitar and captures the despair of Cooder's lyrics. "Let's Get Gone" and "Turn on Your Lovelight" are straight ahead groove-laced blues rockers and "I'll Be Your Shelter (In the Time of Storm)" is a gospel-tinged track reminiscent of The Blind Boys of Alabama. The album was produced by Terry and Phil Bloch. Special guests include David Lindley, Jorge Calderon, and George Bohannon.

Terry Evans is one of the most soulful male singers around today. Besides adding vocal accompaniment to songs by Ry Cooder, John Fogerty, John Lee Hooker, Rosanne Cash, Boz Scaggs, Joan Armatrading, Dave Alvin, Burton Cummings, Maria Muldaur, Pops Stapes, Van Dyke Parks, and even some guitar work to Marvin Gaye's live album, Evans has put his own personal style on four solo albums of his own.
Evans began his music career as a duo, with his partner Bobby King, performing soul and gospel songs. The pair released a couple of albums and eventually teamed up with Ry Cooder to provide backing vocals on several albums and in his live band. Cooder & Evans have continued to work together, and Terry even went on to sing lead on the Crossroads movie soundtrack album.
