Known for his compelling vocals, imagery filled lyrics and distinctive blues influenced guitar playing, Chris Whitley has teamed up with Billy Martin and Chris Wood, of the critically acclaimed jazz trio Medeski Martin and Wood, on the Valley Entertainment release, Perfect Day. An album of covers, Perfect Day features Jimi Hendrix's "Drifting", Bob Dylan's "Spanish Harlem Incident" and the highly revered Lou Reed favorite, "Perfect Day". There is an obvious jazz flavor brought in by Martin and Wood that compliments Whitley's soulful falsetto and earthy guitar.
