The godfather of Punk Wayne Kramer pulled together the Beyond Cyberpunk compilation as a way to accentuate some of punk rock's other leading figures, as well as newer bands he felt were true to the spirit of the music.
Beyond Cyberpunk is a punk retrospective that features tracks from Dee Dee Ramone, Chris Spedding, and Ron Asheton available exclusively on this disc. Appearing also are new tracks from Pere Ubu, Mudhoney, and the original line-up of Richard Hell & the Voidoids, together again for the first time in 23 years.
Kramer produced half the tracks on this compilation, including such incendiary guitar-driven gems as Mudhoney's "Inside Job," Mother Superior's "Black Silk" and his own "Crawling Outta the Jungle." "Bad Little Go-Go Girl" highlights Dee Dee Ramone's songwriting skills and is the last song ever to be done by the founding bassist of New York City punk icons the Ramones.
